Meditation creates harmony, peace, and balance within ours spirits. Daily stress in our busy lives can cause us to feel depressed and can have a great impact on our romantic relationships. We often resort to negative activities to reduce stress. Alcohol, cigarettes, food, and drugs can destroy are lives and those around us. Our partners are left feeling ignored, lonely, and look elsewhere for attention that the depressed counterpart should give. When working on our sex lives, we must also look within.
Meditation takes practice, commitment, and patience. When we meditate, our mind rests, our heart slows down, we began to hear ourselves breathe, and block all negative energies. The more time we spend meditating, the better we feel.
The best time to meditate is in the morning and late evening. Choosing the morning to meditate will give you positive energy for the upcoming day. This energy will radiate and spread to those around you, including the one the person who is missing your love and effection. Meditation at night will release all negative energies that you encountered the day, including the over-bearing in-laws and draining co-workers. Once you have found the right time for you to meditate, stick to that schedule.
You will find strength in your meditation with consistence and regularity.
Meditating as a couple will build your relationship spiritually and help create a stronger connection between the two of you. The more time you spend together, the more you will began to communicate. Finding a place to meditate is also important in building this special bond. In a quiet room with no disturbances is best, or maybe outside if you want to be surrounded by pleasant nature sounds and fresh air. You can include candles, water fountains, incense, plants, or any other element to your meditation together.
Why should a man meditate with his woman?
Woman are very emotional beings. They are very sensitive, loving, nurturing, and most have good intentions. All woman want is a man who understands her emotions and respects her needs. This sounds very simple, but some couples fall because of the simple lack of understanding. People become selfish in their own relationship and do as we wish without taking into consideration how this will make our significant other feel. The relationship begins to take a downward spiral, and the sex almost disappears, if not already. The two suddenly become too busy, overwhelmed with children, or spend more time looking for new love than trying to fix the one they already have invested in. Even sleeping in the same bed together is aggravating. If one initiates sex, the other just walks away or makes an excuse for not "feeling" like making love. A woman can start to feel unattractive and undesired. The heated feelings she once had for this man slowly walks out the door and promises no return.
These feelings may be far away, but they can return. Communication is key. A simple "Good Morning" or "Have a great day" can be a great start to a better relationship. You open the lines of communication and send the message that you care. If a couple is to the point of not even touching each other, the relationship is almost done. Keeping the passion alive is not a simple task, but it's worth fighting for.
When practicing this meditation, the couple should be physically connected in some way. Sitting back to back, both "Indian Style" or holding hands will help you feel closer while meditating. You can also ry tmeditating "toe to toe", with your toes touching while facing each other. Either way, make sure there is some sort of physical connection. Count to four together and breathe in. While you are holding your breathe, imagine your partners love energy flowing through your body. On the count of eight breathe out, and imagine the two of you are coming together as one. Practicing this meditation for ten minutes a day will bring positive results, slowly, but surely..
When you become a "spiritual union" instead of just "a couple", your relationship will be newly energized and awakened. You will have that "New Love" feeling that cannot be easily broken. You will find yourself even more attracted to each other. The "spark" that you once had will start a new flame.

Today is a Beautiful Day. I chose to make it that way. Because for the past few months, I’ve been a wreck. Honestly, if it wasn’t for my good eating habits, I’d probably be overweight and stuck on the couch eating chocolate covered icecream bars and Coca-Cola’s. But today, I decided to change that. For some reason, I woke up and realized how much time I have wasted living a life I don’t want to live. I decided to get back to being me. To not let anyone bring me down. And to continue being a Sexy Vegetarian. On the inside and out.
I started my day out with simple meditation, yoga, and a jog on the treadmill. I want to sell this treadmill, but I might as well put it to good use while it’s there. When I am down, I am not hungry. I lose weight. And basically don’t exist on the planet. But, this morning, I fed myself a healthy breakfast. Oatmeal & Strawberries. For the past few weekes, junk food has been incorporated into my diet. Oh well. Can’t change the past. But at this moment, I am back to being a health-junkie.
I know I shouldn’t be complaining. We all got problems!
So what foods will help us survive in stressful times?
I’ve done my research for you.
N-Joy!
Asparagus
This green veggie is high in folic acid, which can help stabilize your mood. Folic acid and B vitamins can help keep your mood steady because they're needed to make serotonin, which is a chemical that directly affects mood in a positive way.
Sweet Potatoes
Sweet Potatoes
Sweet potatoes can be particularly stress-reducing because they can satisfy the urge you get for carbohydrates and sweets when you are under a great deal of stress. (Good for those who “overreat” when stressed)
Dried Apricots
Apricots are rich in magnesium, which is a stress-buster and a natural muscle relaxant as well. Almonds, Pistachios & WalnutsAlmonds are packed with B and E vitamins, which help boost your immune system, and walnuts and pistachios help lower blood pressure.
Canola Oil
Canola Oil
Several studies confirmed that people who suffer from depression also have lower levels of the vitamin E. Canola oil is rich in vitamin E. It is a healthier alternative for sautéing foods and vegetables.
Dark green vegetables
Veggies such as spinach and peas are high in folate. It is a substance that has a key role in the production of serotonin. Eat fresh vegetables, because canned versions usually have lower nutritional value. Legumes are also rich in folate.
Chickpeas are rich in iron, vitamin E and fiber. To prepare a simple snack, mix a can of drained and rinsed chickpeas with some minced garlic, fresh lemon juice, and olive or canola oil in your blender. You can add salt, pepper or other spices that you prefer.
Apparently, Basil increases circulation, stimulates the sex drive and boosts fertility! It is also said to produce a general sense of well being for body and mind. But most curiously of all, its scent is supposed to drive us wild! (That is, if you’re relationship is “suffering” because of stress-related issues)
Stay Positive & Keep Positive People in Your Life & Good Food in Your Belly!
Lots of Love!

Yoga Me

I was never much of a "Fitness Guru", if that's what you call it.
My workouts always consisted of walking to the cafe' on my college campus or checking the mail
down the Driveway.
After I had my first child, my Body changed. I actually gained weight, for once (in high school, I was the "chicken legged" girl with no waist, hips, or bootay.
But the weight began to accelerate. I began to squeeze into my clothes. My shirts started to feel tight.
Even a walk down th
e street was a struggle for me.
I've always maintained a good diet. I was not always a vegetarian, but
I ate my fruits and veggies.
Being a waitress gave me a good amount of walking time, but it just wasn't enough.
So, I turned to Yoga.
Yoga was and still is relaxing for me. In the backyard, on the beach, in a dark, quiet room. A lit incent, a burning candle, and soothing music make this experience even more delighful.
Practicing Yoga on an empty stomach is the best idea. I prepare for yoga as I would prepare for a physical cleansing.
I prefer to practice my posing early in the mornings, when the kids are sleep and my mind is at rest. The roads are quiet, the birds are chirping, and the sun is beginning to rise on my side of the world.
What is Yoga?
Breath Control, Simple Meditation, and Adoption of
Body Posture Techniques
I will share with you two poses I am perfecting on my own. Very Simple, but yet rewarding!
A Hatha Yoga Pose
The purification of the physical body as leading to the purification of the mind and prana, or vital energy.
The Warrior Pose
Warrior one pose in yoga is a great yoga pose for strengthening leg and core muscles.
The Warrior Poses take strength, steadiness, and a fierce determination to hold them with integrity. The legs and arms need to be strong and extended (where the legs are straight), the hips flexible, the chest open and well-lifted, and the spine extended to hold these poses well. Looks easy, doesn't it?
Other Benefits of Yoga:
The ability of yoga to relax body and mind, leading to a reduction of tension and stress is arguably, its most important benefit. It tones muscles, makes growing older a more graceful process, calms the spirit, and sharpens the mind.
But don't take my word for it, try it yourself.
Stay Happy, Healthy, & Sexy!
Namaste.

Many Reasons...
We all have been there.
Passing by McDonald's on a hot summer day.
"A nice milkshake and side of extra large fries sounds like a nice treat right now"
Or you you could always go home and make a fruit smoothie & avocado.
The temptations are out there. But why let it control you?
You care about the future, you say, but you contribute to animal abuse & pass bad eating habits down to your children, which result in bad health, diabetes, weight problems, & habits that are hard to break.
What is Health?
The state of being hale, sound, or whole, in body, mind, or soul; especially, the state of being free from physical disease or pain.
Note: the definition mentions "mind and soul". Not just the physical. People in America overeat when they are depressed, have failed, lonely, unhappy, stressed, and feel out of control.
Unhealthy, junk, foods lower our frequency of consciousness. For this reason alone, it’s a great idea to review our eating habits.
I became vegetarian for many reasons. My over consumption of dairy and meat made me gain a tremendous amount of weight. So, I did my research and decided that animal products are the problem. From burgers, to steaks, chicken, and Pork (disgusting, by the way), I had to empty the fridge and change my life. Not to mention, animals are abused, injected with hormones and drugs, and unable to live a healthy lifestyle themselves because we are the most greedy country on this planet. Inside, I felt bad for them. So I quit.
My spiritual life has also changed since becoming Veggie. I am more aware of my spirit. I started meditating, fasting, and looking within instead of letting outside influences effect me.
America lacks Spirituality. We've become so caught up in Materials that we try our best to Avoid the unsolved mystery of our Souls. We party, drink. We go to work and come home. We smoke. Take mood-altering drugs. We watch too much t.v. and spend to much time on our phones. But is this satisfying us? It isn't. In the end we end up hurting others and hurting ourselves.
An interesting way to think about nutrition is that a living cell only survives for seven years, on average. This means that your entire body becomes replaced every seven years. What does it become replaced with? Well,
the food and drink you put into your body, of course. So you literally are what you eat!
I've noticed that the people I know who are vegetarians and/or conscious about their physical health also have fulfilling spiritual lives. They have energy. They are full of Love, Hope, and Optimism. And they look good ;0)
Is it good for the Planet?
Studies show that vegetarian, organic diets have the smallest environmental impact while the single most damaging foodstuff is beef. All non-vegetarian diets require significantly greater amounts of environmental resources such as land and water.
America's meat addiction is poisoning and depleting our potable water, arable land, and clean air. More than half the water used in the United States today goes to animal agriculture. Farmed animals produce 130 times more excrement than the human population and the run-off from their waste fouls our waterways. Animal excrement emits gases that poison the air around farms.10 In its 2006 report, the United Nations said raising animals for food generates more greenhouse gases than all the cars and trucks in the world combined. Most of it comes from carbon dioxide and methane gas generated by manure. (Livestock a major threat to environment,” United Nations FAO Newsroom, Nov. 29, 2006: http://www.fao.org/newsroom/en/news/2006/1000448/index.html)
I don't hate America, or the people in it. People just need to open their minds, take in new information, teach their children to take care of themselves, and possibly change the course of our future. I remember the day I thought vegetarians were "weird". Until I realized that maybe I was!!

What A Day!
It's midnight and I've got the kids asleep. I am suffering from lack of sleep and recovering from a bug I've had for a couple of days. I've been drinking my green tea like crazy! LOL.
I had a yard sale today. Ugh. A 12 Hour Sale. Didn't make much, oh well, But I did meet alot of interesting people! I also picked up a gig online working from home. Not too excited about it, but beats being broke! We'll see how it goes....
Today, I didn't eat so much. This morning I had Banana Nut Crunch with SILK Coconut Milk (yummy!). For lunch, I had the usual. Pasta with a side of vegetables (Kale). In between I snacked on oranges, bananas, and Whole Wheat Saltines. Dinner was on the Grill. Morning Star Veggie Burgers and Grilled Onions, Garlic, & Cucumbers. Delicioso!
I am struggling trying to go to sleep. But I've got to do what I gotta do! I will have a busy morning with the girls & start work at Noon. My ex (We are working on it.) is also starting a new job. So hopefully the stresses will decrease and I can finally BREATHE!

Childhood Memories (and Facts)
I remember waking up in the middle of the night at my mother's house.
Suffolk, Virginia.
My father alway kept butter pecan icecream in the fridge and
(icecream is derived from animal fat and liquid mucus. I guess I need to get that out of my fridge asap!)
cinnamon pop-tarts.
3am was a great time to sneak a snack to my room.
LOL.
We always ate balanced meals.
Our usual was Noodles & Broccoli with parmesan cheese.
(parmesan cheese is dairy. I always try to go with the alternative. Vegan Parmesan is tastey. You can find it at your local grocery or health food mart.)
A few times a week we would
have a meat. Chicken or Turkey.
(Chicken contains bacteria that can make you ill if uncooked. Even the ones that say USDA Organic. Don't be fooled!)
With a side of rice and vegetables.
(If my father was deployed.)
(Yes, I am a Navy Brat)
My father was the chef of the house, so when he
came home we were sitting at the table
ready for a gourmet meal!
Trips to the beach were lovely.
Virginia Beach, that is.
With a bucket of fried chicken, biscuits, and mash potatoes.
(Fried Foods affect your liver most dreadfully)
Those were the days!
We didn't each much pork.
(Look at that object in a filthy mud hole by the roadside. At first, you distinguish nothing but a pile of black, slimy mud. The dirty mass moves! You think of a reptile, a turtle, some uncouth monster, reveling his Stygian filth. A grunt! The mystery is solved. The sound betrays a hog. You avert your face and hasten by, sickened with disgust. Stop, friend, admire your savory ham, your souse, your tripe, your toothsome sausage in its native element. A dainty diseased beast!)
Occasionally, my dad made pork chops, which I loved!
He was the cook!
My mom always kept a basket of fruit around.
Usually Bananas, Apples, or Grapefruit.
(Grapefruit is high in Vitamin C and Potassium. Its albedo contains many anti-cancer agents that help fight a host of diseases.)
Breakfast was the usual.
Oatmeal with a hint of sugar.
If my father made breakfast, he'd add butter and milk!
(Replace Cow's Milk with Almond Milk. Less fat, No hormones, No animal mucus-stuff (lol). I also enjoy Vanilla Soy Milk on Occasion)
In Puerto Rico we always stopped for fresh fruit.
(You can usually find coconuts being sold roadside as coco frio (chilled green coconut), with the top cut off and a straw stuck into it so you can drink the juice.<>
on the sides of the road.)
My father and I were the biggest fans of seafood in the house,
So crabs & shrimp were on the menu quite often.
My mother is allergic, so we always had to be careful ☺
I don't remember eating fast food, which is probably a good thing!
We rarely ate out.
If we did, it was on a Sunday or on one of our
many road trips!
My mother was always good about packing food on the road.
As I got older, my eating habits changed for the worse.
I picked up a part-time job as a waitress in high school.
Started eating out more often.
I ate everything from Burger King to McDonald's
(McDonald's Chicken Nuggets are mechanically separated and made from old chicken bones.)
on a daily basis, destroying myself slowy without even knowing it.
But you live and you learn!
(French Fries from Fast Food shouldn't even be referred to as potatoes! They are soaked in hydrogenated oil. Calling fast-food fries "potatoes" should be a crime. )

The Gorgeous Grocery List
There are lots of ways to get Beautiful Skin by eating the right Foods. From experience, Sodas do me no good! I drink plenty of water, herbal teas, & non-dairy milk on occasion. I Try to stay away from fried foods...and double my intake of fresh fruits and vegetables. I see a big difference in my skin when I eat consciously.
Want to Get Gorgeous without the Olay?
Don't forget to add these to your grocery LIST ☺
1. Romaine Lettuce.
Romaine Lettuce is an excellent source of Vitamin A, which increases cell turnover. I love to make big Salads with Romaine. Salads are best without the dressing, or a add some Olive Oil and Salt just to kick up the flavor (just a dash!)
2. Tomatoes.
Tomatoes are said to reduce the look of fine lines and give you a healthy "glow".
3. Soy
Soy is said to firm skin. Fine Wrinkles can will also improve if you include more Soy in your diet.
4. Almonds
Almonds are an Excellent Source of Vitamin E. Also great for dry skin!
5. Whole Grains
Whole Grains are high in antioxidants, which can improve your complexion.
6. Licorice Root Extract
(I get mine on Amazon.)
This extract is a great Toner! Brightens and Tightens Skin. The only downside is the smell!
7. Honey
Honey makes a great face mask! Honey, crushed almonds, and lemon juice make an excellent cleanser. So, don't forget to add almonds and lemon juice to the list ☺
The key to receiving the most benefit is to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables... for healthy skin and a healthy body!

Health, Happiness, & Strawberries!

"Every morning is a fresh beginning. Every day is the world made new. Today is a new day. Today is my world made new. I have lived all my life up to this moment, to come to this day. This moment--this day--is as good as any moment in all eternity. I shall make of this day--each moment of this day--a heaven on earth. This is my day of opportunity.
To complete my morning, I always indulge in a luscious piece of fruit, or a simple bowl of cereal (as a did this morning) and soymilk with chunks of Strawberries, Bananas, or Blueberries. (You can see a sample of my strawberry cheerios at the top of this Post ☺)
Not only are Strawberries deliciouso, but they are super beneficial. They are rich in antioxidants, rich in Vitamin C, and are effective in lowering high blood pressure. They are also an excellent source of Potassium. So Indulge!
Welcome!
Hola Friends!
I am on a Vegetarian Jouney and would love to Share my experiences with You ♥
My Journey began when I was 23 years old.
.
Of course I slacked on and off every once in a while.
But this time, starting today, I am sticking to it!
My diet includes soy-based products.
